Movement Science & The Endocannabinoid System.

Slowly but surely cannabis is breaking through the old stigma of the “lazy pothead”, to the proactive cannabis user as more people experience it’s health benefits.

But who would’ve thought that cannabis and exercise would ever be a thing? Well, interesting enough it’s been used for centuries to enhance yoga, dance, and other movement practices.

So why not turn to cannabis in the era of our fitness boom too?

Before you light one up and hit the gym, let’s talk about how cannabis & fitness complement each other for creating a physique that’s authentically healthy from the inside out.

Biomechanics. Have you heard of the term?

“Biomechanics is the science of movement of a living body, including how muscles, bones, tendons, and ligaments work together to produce movement.”

This means our body has a systematic process of how it moves in relation to our environment. Imagine your body like a car… but instead of tires, brake pads, and motor oil, you have joints, muscles, and synovial fluid.

Just like a vehicle, it’s essential for our biomechanics to be kept maintained so that our system is running smoothly. When our biomechanics are working as they should, we feel good and look good too. But when our body is out of balance, just like a car with a flat tire, the rest of our system becomes vulnerable to fill the gap.

Interesting enough this is how cannabis works as well in relation to our endocannabinoid system.

Stick with me here!

Consuming cannabis is like nutrition for your ECS. Whether you eat the raw plant material or smoke it, you’re still receiving cannabinoids for your system. When our ECS isn’t producing enough cannabinoids to keep our internal systems at homeostasis, we see health issues arise.

So in a nutshell, if our biomechanics and our endocannabinoid system are conditioned, healthy, and balanced we’re really ahead of the game. Because now our internal health is kicking ass and so is our external!

With biomechanical and endocannabinoid homeostasis, you’re providing a solution to mitigate unnecessary stress on your body, allowing you to feel your best now and later down the road.

Now over to you, do you struggle with your internal health more than your external, or vice versa? Maybe both?

If you’re feeling good from the inside out, let me know!

How do you stay balanced?

Stay high, stay healthy,
