How to Workout High

If you’re anything like me, I get hella bored in my workouts if it’s not mentally stimulating.

After being a personal trainer & group fitness instructor for almost ten years, I’m always looking for ways to evolve my fitness routine and tools to keep my clients and me always returning for more!

Long story short, I’ve had a really special journey with exercise, cannabis, and nature since it helped me heal my eating disorder, battle depression, and understand my anxiety. You can read about my cannabis fitness journey here if you want the deets.

But in a nutshell, here are my 3 Ps to working out high. Whether you’re a beginner in fitness, cannabis, or both, here’s the secret sauce…

1. Playlist

The power is in your playlist so keep it simple & fun! I encourage the first song to be catered to your warm-up, the 2nd song your workout, and 3rd, a cool-down song.

2. Plant.

Cannabis consumption is not required to benefit from your workout but if you choose to use cannabis as an exercise enhancement tool make sure you are consuming the best quality. If you’re a beginner with cannabis I recommend using a CBD product. For the more advanced cannabis users, go to your successful dosage with a strain that will suit your exercise choice. Ex. a Sativa for running, indica for yoga, etc.

3. Play.

Most importantly, PLAY! This is your time to enjoy moving your body and give it what it needs. I recommend starting with any physical activity that brings you joy. If you like dancing do that. Jump rope, hike, bike, stretch… you get the point. Using cannabis with those activities will feel less intimidating and give you a solid foundation to build from.
